Welcome to the Christian Men's Wall of Honor

  • DEDICATION:

Upon this Wall you will find the stories of great men. Sons of God. Men of Honor. Brothers in Christ. Men who stand out from the masses to stand up for their God and His Son. Men who are being honored by their friends and family by permanently memorializing them on this Wall of Honor for you and all the world to see and know.

    PRAYER:

Eternal Father, bless these men for their faithfulness. May those who read and write the words inscribed here carry on and uphold Your Name. For those being honored here and still living, may they be continually blessed with Your Presence and Your Power as they bless those around them as they walk on with You. For those who are now with You, may their voices resound before Your Throne as an Anthem of Everlasting Praise and Honor to the Name that is above every name, now and forevermore. Amen.

  • J. R. Davison

    J. R. Davison

The Bible says in the book of Genesis, “There were giants in the earth in those days.” However, many of us here today can testify to recent sightings of a giant among us in these days. His name is J.R. Davison.

J.R. never drew attention to himself but always pointed us to his Heavenly Father. Oh, how he loved his Father in Heaven and he loved to tell us stories about his fresh encounters with Him and how his Father could handle any difficult situation in life. more >>

  • Dr. Glynn Wells

    Dr. Glynn Wells

Dr. Glynn Wells has answered the call to follow his Savior not only locally but around the world. He is truly what our Mission Pastor calls a “life term missionary.” His passion is to care for those who are lost and hurting, both physically and spiritually. He does this through (as he would say) “the gifts God has given him as a physician.” He and his wife Pat and 3 children (Brian, Jennifer, and Sean) lived in Kenya for 11 years and worked to establish five medical clinics. He continues to serve as a medical consultant for Christian Missionary Fellowship. He has also participated in eight short-term mission trips with his church, Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, Maryland. He is a physician in Bel Air, MD, has been an elder at his church and continues as a Bible teacher in small groups. If he isn’t reading about medicine, he is reading and studying God’s Word. more >>

    Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr.

At a quick glance, he appears to be another regular guy; well dressed, mild mannered and approachable. But after a few moments in his presence, you soon recognize that Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr. is a godly man who walks with Jesus, has been richly blessed by God and has a deep heartfelt desire for you to have a similar eternal relationship with Christ, together with all of its blessings. • Deacon Frank E. Grier

    Deacon Frank E. Grier

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” was the familiar refrain of gratitude heard from the voice of Deacon Grier when in his presence. But more often than not, it was he who deserved the hearty “thank you” from us. With this in mind, it is with much gratitude that we the men of First Baptist Church of Glenarden offer tribute to Deacon Frank E. Grier for his dedicated and faithful Christian service and the affect it has had on our lives.

Deacon Frank E. Grier served as an Elder and Deacon of First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) located in Landover and Upper Marlboro, Md. Christensen spent his early years growing up tall and strong on a farm in Nebraska. With a straw hat on his head young Franklin worked the fields and tended to the animals on his father's farm. He rode a horse to school, played sports and learned many of life's most important lessons from his dad.

As he grew into his teen years, now known to most of his friends as "Chris", he was more often seen in a football helmet or baseball cap. It was during these early days that the farm boy met a town girl named Gloria. more >>

  • Ted Holley

Pastor Ted Holley is a faithful servant of God. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know Ted in the early 90's, soon after I had become a Christian. My first impression of Ted was one of pleasant surprise that a pastor could actually be entertaining, even funny. That was new to me and very appealing, especially as a new Christian. As I matured in Christ, interestingly, what had first drawn me to the man was overshadowed by being drawn to God. This is a testament to Ted's God given ability to reach people where they are and guide them to became ever closer to God through a love for Jesus Christ.

I recall, as a new Christian who just graduated from business school, sitting in the pew now ready to learn everything there was to know about the Bible. It didn't turn out quite that way. Through Ted's preaching, I quickly learned what is most important, how we can be a part of people coming to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Since that time, I often find myself reminding myself of the lessons I learned back then about being prepared to share our faith with others... more >>

  • Bob Burton

    Bob Burton

This is my tribute to Bob Burton, the man that God used in my life to "close the deal with God." It was February 1969, I was 22 years old, my wife had just become a believer in Jesus Christ and I was struggling with how to process this. I loved her and wanted us to do life and marriage together, but was convinced that being a Christian was not for me.

One weekend she asked, "Can we go to church?" Though I really did not want to since I had no idea what went on inside a church on Sunday morning, I relented. She found a church a few miles from our home that she thought would a good one. Well, it was a memorable experience because of how out-of-place I felt that day.

The next week, knowing I had a bad experience the week before, my wife asked if we could try again. She had found a different, but similar church closer to our home. more >>

Gerald Merlin Dann, my father-in-law, was the man God used to challenge my unbelief. He became a believer in Christ shortly after my wife and I were married in 1967. When we visited, he was insistent that I read the Bible and do what it said. I had no desire to read the Bible, since I was convinced that my stereotypes of Christians were correct and that being religious was not for me. I remember one time when he opened his Bible to John 3:16 and told me to read it out loud. Needless to say, I didn't want to, but to keep peace in the family, I did.
