FOUNDATION FOR MANHOOD™ PRIVACY POLICY (Effective as of September 9, 2008)

Use of this “Christian Men’s Wall of Honor™” website at www.HonorMen.org™ (the “Website”) is conditioned on the user’s acceptance of this Privacy Policy. Your use of this Website constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, do not use this Website.

Foundation for Manhood™ (“FFM”) is committed to preserving the privacy of our users. We will not collect personally identifiable information from you, other than what you supply to us on a voluntary basis. FFM will only use the personally identifiable information that you provide to support your relationship with FFM. FFM uses industry-standard steps to protect your personal information, and will not willfully disclose your personal information to any third party without first receiving your permission.

  1. Acceptance of Privacy Policy and Notice of Changes
Use of this site confirms your agreement and consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”). If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, do not use the site. This Policy may be updated or changed at any time in our discretion. Updates to this Policy are effective when posted. Please check this page periodically for any changes. Your continued use of this site following the posting of any changes to these terms means that you have accepted those changes. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail us at contact@honormen.org.
  2. Child Protection

Although as a nonprofit organization we are not required to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) regulations, we respect and support your desire to protect your children.

FFM does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent.

Any information desired to be submitted by a minor (anyone under the age of 18) must be submitted by the minor’s parent or legal guardian.
  3. Information We Collect and How it is Used

Users are invited to submit tributes comprised of text, photographs, and other materials, honoring a living or deceased man who has made a significant impact on the user’s life (a “Tribute”). In order to post a Tribute on the Website, you must first create an account with us. To create an account we will collect the following information: name, address, phone number, email address, age range and gender (for statistical purposes), and a password of your choosing.

FFM will not sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to others. We will not intentionally provide your personal information to any third party except: (i) when we have your permission to share your information, (ii) when we are required by law to do so or in the event of legal action arising from information posted by you, or (iii) to allow entities assisting FFM on technical and internal issues to access certain data on a need-to-know basis, subject to confidentiality protections.

We may use the information you provide to send you information or materials related to the work of FFM in which we think you may have an interest, such as email updates and occasional fundraising letters. FFM is not responsible for user information provided to third party sites to which FFM links.

Credit card information. You will also be required to input credit information solely for the purpose of processing your payment for posting a Tribute. Of course, we transmit the credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing. Other than use for processing your payment, we will not use, store, or transmit to any third party your credit card information for any purpose.

Honoree information. If the honoree who is the subject of your Tribute is living, you will also be required to provide the name and email address of the honoree. The email address will be used solely to send a message to the honoree requesting permission to post your Tribute. Once we have the honoree’s permission to post your Tribute, we will not send any further information or materials to the honoree.

Because all Tributes will be publicly posted and available for anyone to read, we request that you do not include any personally identifiable information (other than their names and, if desired, a photograph) about honorees in your Tributes, including but not limited to: addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or birthdates. We reserve the right to edit any Tribute to delete personally identifiable information. LIVING HONOREES SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING TRIBUTES ABOUT THEMSELVES AND NOTIFYING FFM TO DELETE ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION. FFM SHALL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE POSTING OF AN HONOREE’S PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION IN A TRIBUTE.

Non-personal information. We collect the IP address of our visitors and use that data to gather broad demographic information about our visitors. We also may use cookies to enhance your experience with our website. “Cookies” are small files downloaded to your hard drive that enable your browser to save and recall information. We may use this data to tailor our visitors’ experiences, showing them content that we think they might be interested in, and displaying the content according to their preferences. We may share aggregate demographic information with our advertisers.

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, FFM may freely use and disclose any information and materials received from you or collected through your use of the Website for any lawful reason or purpose.
  4. Security of Your Personal Information

FFM is committed to ensuring the security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account with or without your knowledge. FFM will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this section.
  5. Contacting FFM / Removing Your Name From Our Records.
